[0001] TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to a swivel attachment device comprising a pair of rings freely rotatable relative to each other about an axis. rotation defined by a central pivot. State of the art A known swivel of the kind mentioned, comprises two rotating rings around a central pivot, in which each ring is constituted by the end-to-end joining of the ends of two U-shaped parts. Two screws are necessary to close each ring. In the assembled position of the ring, the two screws are embedded in the body of the ring, and are not visible from the outside. In case of incomplete closure with a single screw, or insufficient screwing, the visible state of the ring appears normal, but at the expense of its mechanical strength. Other known fasteners are shackles that can rotate around a closed ring. The size of these devices is important, and impractical to use. If the shackle is not well adapted to the load, the tensile force can be applied on the edge of the shackle and is therefore not centered on the axis of rotation of the swivel. Instead of the shackles, there are also carabiners coupled to a ring rotation by a pivot. The carabiners have self-closing pivoting fingers that can be locked. The large size does not facilitate handling, and the load recovery by the closed finger is insufficient.
[0002] OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The object of the invention is to provide a swiveling swivel with reduced overall dimensions, and having a resistant and reliable closure system while being compatible with different uses and connecting devices. The fastening device according to the invention is characterized in that at least one of the rings is shaped as a hook delimiting a lateral access space, and that a closure element is able to close said space by realizing the partial recovery of tensile forces, said closure member bearing on two opposite faces of the hook, and being removable.
[0003] According to an exemplary embodiment, the closure element is composed of a spacer traversed by a fixing screw, the assembly being removable. The bottom of the hook preferably has a rounded shape arranged so that the application of a tensile load is effected along the axis of rotation of the swivel.
[0004] Such a device has a compact footprint with a durable and permanently visible closure system, conferring high reliability.
[0005] According to a feature of the invention, the hollow base of one of the rings comprises an annular positioning surface, cooperating with a shoulder of the other ring leaving a predetermined clearance for the free rotation of the rings. The base of the ring is provided with a housing for receiving a bearing, which is interposed between the head of the pivot and the shoulder of the other ring.
[0006] The closure elements may of course be constituted by simple bolts extending substantially parallel to the central pivot. The end faces of the hook are advantageously parallel, and extend substantially orthogonally to the axis of rotation.
[0007] According to a first embodiment, the two rings are open by means of two screws having opposing screwing or unscrewing directions in the axial direction of the axis of rotation.
[0008] According to a second embodiment, only one of the rings is openable, the other being devoid of closure element. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Other advantages and features will emerge more clearly from the following description of an embodiment of the invention given by way of nonlimiting example and represented in the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. a perspective view of the swivel attachment device according to the invention with two open rings; Figure 2 shows an exploded view of the device of Figure 1; Figure 3 shows a sectional view of Figure 1; FIG. 4 illustrates an exploded view in perspective of the upper ring after removal of the spacer from the lateral space; Figures 5 and 6 are similar views of Figures 1 and 2 of an alternative embodiment with a single openable ring. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION In FIGS. 1 to 3, a swivel attachment device, designated by the general reference numeral 10, comprises a pair of rings 11, 12 able to rotate freely relative to one another. around a common axis of rotation 13. The two rings 11, 12 are made by way of example in aluminum alloy, or in any other metallic material.
[0009] Each ring 11, 12 is composed of a C-shaped open hook, and a closure member for closing the lateral space 16, 17 of the corresponding hook. Each closure element comprises, by way of example, a spacer 14, through which a fixing screw 20, 23 passes. The space 16, 17 is arranged between the two end faces 11a, 11b; 12a, 12b planes and parallel of the hook, to allow the insertion of a loop of strap or rope inside the ring 11, 12 after disassembly of the corresponding closure element. In Figure 4, one of the faces 11a of the upper ring 11 is provided with a first threaded blind hole 18, and the other face 11b of the same ring 11 is provided with a second through hole 19 and not threaded. The two holes 18, 19 are substantially aligned in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation 13 to allow the passage of a screw 20.
[0010] All this assembly can be inclined relative to the axis of rotation 13 to improve the shape or size of the swivel. It is the same for the other lower ring 12 which is inverted with respect to the first ring 11. The face 12a is provided with a third threaded blind hole 21, and the other face 12b is equipped with a fourth hole 22 through and not threaded. The two holes 21, 22 are substantially aligned in a direction parallel to the axis 13 to allow the passage of another screw 23.
[0011] The spacer 14, 15 of each closure element has a substantially cylindrical shape, and is pierced axially by a bore 24, 25 for the passage of the screws 20, 23. The axial length of the spacer corresponds to the interval of the lateral space 16, 17, and the diameter of the bore 24, 25 is slightly greater than that of the screws 20, 23. The base of the upper ring 11 comprises an annular housing 26 intended for the installation of a ball bearing 27 or rollers. The lower end of the base is open by delimiting an annular positioning surface 28. The top of the lower ring 12 is equipped with a shoulder 29 which fits into the annular positioning surface 28 for the axial centering of the two rings 11, 12. A pivot 30 is used to constitute the axis of rotation 13 free of two rings 11, 12. The head 31 of the pivot 30 is supported on the bearing housing 27, and its shank 32 passes through the bearing 27, and is secured in an orifice 33 of the ring 12. The mounting of the bearing 27 and the pivot 30 is configured to leave a clearance J of small thickness between the base and the top of the two rings 11, 12 to allow a rotational movement in both directions. Preferably, the two spacers of the closure elements 14, 15 are made of metallic material, and are arranged to avoid any dangerous point of attachment inside the rings 11, 12. They may have a different coloring coating from that of the hook . A single screw 20, 23 is necessary to close each ring 11, 12, and the corresponding spacer remains perfectly visible from the outside in the assembled position. The strap loop or rope remains trapped in the ring 11, 12 with total security, while remaining angularly movable thanks to rounded or continuous internal surfaces. When the swivel is energized, these loops strap or rope are automatically positioned in the rounded depression of the hook 11, 12 coinciding with the axis of rotation 13 of the swivel.
[0012] To open one of the rings 11, 12, simply unscrew the corresponding screw 20, 23 by means of a wrench (not shown), and remove the spacer 14, 15 to release the lateral space 16, 17. It is then possible to replace one loop of rope with another, or with any other fastener. The two screws 20, 23 extend substantially parallel to the axis of rotation 13 of the pivot 30, and are mounted in opposite directions to each other for fixing the two closure elements 14, 15.
[0013] It is clear that the screws 20, 23 and spacers 14, 15 may be replaced by bolts or any other removable fastener for partial recovery of tensile forces. The screws 20, 23 may also be inclined relative to the axis of rotation 13 without departing from the scope of the invention.
[0014] In the alternative embodiment of Figures 5 and 6, only one of the rings 11 is openable. The swivel attachment device 100 is similar to that of the previous figures, but the ring 12 is completely closed without the side space 17 and its spacer. The same reference numbers will be used to designate identical or similar parts. Ring 11 is identical to that described above.
